This is probably the most photographed stone arch viaduct in the world, the Landwasser Viaduct. Most photographs are from the train, so it is nice to see this overhead shot. Yes it was built block by block, using massive scaffolding and forms, over 100 years ago. It was recently nominated for inclusion in the UNESCO register as a superb engineering accomplishment. I try to ride this train once a year.
