This image depicts one of Illinois Central Gulf's 'Slingshot' piggyback trains. These short, fast piggyback trains operated between Chicago and St. Louis. ICG 'Slingshot' service competed with truck traffic on nearby I-55. Former Gulf, Mobile & Ohio power was common on these particular trains. Thanks for sharing Dan.
