Ah..... My favourite Block Train, PETRONAS Fertilizer Kedah Urea Fertilizer-Laden BTU Block Train Number 471 Down and 473 Down from Gurun Plant to Butterworth UET (PETRONAS Bulk Urea Fertilizer Terminal).
These wagons are known as BTU which stands for Bogie Tank Urea. They were specially designed for Urea Fertilizer traffic. These BTU's were made by MMC Metal Industries Sendirian Berhad, a company under Malaysian well-known Public-Listed Company, Malaysian Mining Corporation (MMC) Corporation Berhad. These BTU's were made in 1998. They are Air-Braked as well as Main Reservoir Piped. They use number BTU 20601 - BTU 20637. 37 BTU's (74 Units) were on the rail currently. If I am not mistaken, they are not KTMB's, but PETRONAS's.
PETRONAS Fertilizer Kedah [PFK] is under PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad [PCG]. PCG is under Petroleum Nasional Berhad, Malaysia Premier Petroleum Oil Firm!!! Gurun PFK manufactures Fertilizers for Domestic market as well as Exported to other countries.
