The most famous line ever in Norfolk Southern history was said on that line. The lillington switcher had a run away on the lead headed toward the main line and the engineer Louis Hawks looked down at the brakeman James Leonard and said " stick with me jim and i'll give you my sandwich" I think about that every time I get to run the fayetteville branch
