Great Shot, I wish this location still had the open field look to the left. Last time I was there, the trees and weeds had taken over in the early 2000's.

As soon as I saw this picture it brought back memories for me. I have watched trains from this same location many times growing up as a child and young adult in the late 1970's. I moved from Kentucky in 1985 but still enjoy visiting the landscape from which this photo was taken. Not the same now that Norfolk Southern is heading the way instead of The Southern Railway. Locomotives have changed as well, No more GP50 High Hoods, No more red bay window caboose. Times have changed but I have not. Guess it could not work out in todays modern times anyway. Hard to picture the Southern paint scheme on the new GE units. Thank you for a very beautiful photo of a one of a kind railroad. Mark Strunk
