Kayaking in that busy river? Now there's a brave soul. Excellent shot, one which I will NOT try to duplicate.

The High and Wide load behind #701, is most likely the frame, radiator, engine and rear gearing of a Caterpillar 797B Mining haul truck. These are one of the largest off road trucks made. Capacity is rated at 350-plus tons. But under the right conditions, it can handle over 400 tons. To power one of these trucks, a very large engine is needed. Caterpillar combined two 12-cylinder Cat 3512 power plants in line by means of an innovative flexible coupling system. This allows both engines to utilize a single crankshaft. Caterpillar calls this a 3524B EUI 24-cylinder engine. The 117.1-liter displacement 4-stroke diesel engine is rated at 3,550 gross/3,370 flywheel horsepower. If one looks closely at the black radiator, (front of the load) there is a stairway that runs across the front of the truck, there are 15 steps on.the stairs. From the ground to the top of the truck's bumper is four vertical steps. That's 19 steps from the ground to the cab level of the completed truck. The completed truck is 32 feet wide at the rear tires and is just over 47 feet long. with a full load on board, it can reach a top speed of 42 miles per hour on level ground.
