The Milwaukee Road once the most progressive of all major systems became a dyning giant very rapidly. The wires came down. the road was broken in two and the mighty Hiawatha lay dying in a swamp. Then a mighty 4-8-4 came to life. Thank you for these born again images of Milw. steam.
