I'm sorry, Mitch, but I just had to say something! That's 24 wheels, not axels. By the way, that unit is actually zero axels. An Axel is a Rose, an axle is a load-bearing shaft with wheels on it. But since you take great photographs, we'll forgive you.

Wheels /axles - axels/ axles, duly noted... As for the "brush job", hopefully we are looking at a job in progress and not finished. She still needs, at the very least, a graphite colored smoke and fire box, as well as some attention to the wheels, rods and windows, ect. The engine was painted in July, 2009 and the contractors are still expected to work on the other engines in the yard, such as the Reading 4-8-4, the GTW engine and a few others.
