Any Pink Floyd fan on here will recognize that powerhouse. It is on the cover of their album "Animals." Cool!

What a great shot, and the information is interesting, but most of all the Pink Floyd Power plant steals the show.

If I thought I could get it in, I'd have added an inflatable pink pig to the scene! Thanks for the comments folks.

A sight no longer possible since the re-routing of the Eurostar services away from Waterloo, via the brand new HS1 line, into the restored and modernised St Pancras on the northern side of London, thus making access to Europe easier for the majority of British. Most people in the UK know the power station (disused, but outwardly preserved) as Battersea Power station. The reason that the Eurostar doesn't operate direct services further into the UK or Europe is political, the UK is not a full member of the "border-less European Union (the Schengen area agreement)" and thus the three stations that have a Eurostar service - St Pancras, Ebbsfleet and Ashford - also have full international style passport entry and exit checks with fenced platforms etc, what is more, stations within the rest of Europe that are served by the Eurostar also have to have such arrangements!

Is the big gas holder still standing? They are virtually extinct in North America.
