Phenomenal picture! So much has changed in 30 years... the Overhead signals in the background are now gone replaced with pot signals. The control operator that operated them is now the Butte dispatcher who is now in Fort Worth not in the building on the right of the picture... the Grain Elevator industries are now abandoned and a scrap company moved in. The business track on the far right still exists the way shown but with a new industrial spur was built off of it to the tracks that the tank car is on on the upper right. 100 track the next one over was upgraded into a coal track, 101, 102 are still the same, 103 is not long enough for a train, and the freight you see in 104, 105, and 106 is now switched in Edgemont because of the increase in coal traffic. Lastly, the brakeshoes left along the rail is no longer a practice due to safety. Did I mention that the green engines no longer exist?
Awesome picture! Would be great if you had any more of Alliance from 1980.
