Indeed, it would be wonderful to see 1218 on the high iron again. Alas, reportedly many of the parts and appliances are scattered to the winds. Or of course 2156 is sitting in St. Louis . . . I could go for seeing a Y-6a (2-8-8-2) pulling a train--coal hoppers or coaches, either way!

John - Thanks for posting this unique glimpse of the 1218. She looks impressive whether she's in the shop under restoration or fully assembled and out on the high iron.

I also wish this picture wasn't but a couple months old... Seeing this definitely helps you appreciate how much work went into restoring it the first time, at least was able to run for a little while.
