I am grateful this image was accepted since it is an exemplification of the genre of photography that I am truly passionate about – documenting through visual images people being themselves.
The image is more about the people in it, than the train in the background, as was the intent. However the relevancy of the scene to this Site is also evident, since were it not for the train being stopped at the station, none of these people would be together on that platform in the depicted moment in time.
Perhaps the essence of what I was hoping to capture in that 1/30th of a second on the evening of May 15, 2009, – our shared interest in that train.
