Interesting that this day's train only carried one piggyback flat on the tail end. Usually the Piedmont ran with a dozen or more. Less than six months later, this train would be history. I can't help but think that Southern started running fewer freight cars on this train to skew the numbers in order to make for case for annulment.

I'm trying to picture in my head exactly where in Greensboro this is. Is that the old A&Y yard in the background I see? So much has changed it's just hard for me to place it. Wonderful shot though!

If I'm not mistaken, it looks like this was taken looking east from the northern end of the Eugene Street overpass. The building on the left appears the be the old Southern Railway offices and the last car of the train would be at Elm Street. If I'm correct, this area really has changed so much. Great photo!
