It looks like an amazingly detailed scene on an HO layout. Beautiful shot!

An exciting image to view - lots of action and I'll concur on the model railroad look to the location. Excellent series of images - nice to see you on RP!

Interesting shot, so much to look at, I really like pictures with tons of subjects. I sure wouldn't want to come down that road in the winter time.

Scott - Great photo. Very picturesque look to it. Sure would neat to see this setting (photo) back when steam locomotives were running through this area.

This photo would have been equally as interesting even if there were no train at all. One of the best photos on the site. Thanks for sharing, Scott.

An excellent demonstation that "perfect" lighting isn't required for a great image.

Looks like the beginning to an Alfred Hitchcock movie.

Very good photo Scott. Before I looked at the City/State, I would have guessed it was somewhere up here in the Pacific Northwest. Now I'm motivated to go shooting on those dreary, drizzly, gray days.

Wait a second...I've seen this photo before? Try in an article titled "A Place Worth Waiting" in the October 2008 issue of TRAINS magazine. The article was great Scott, and so is the photograph!

The road there is pretty steep.

I love this shot. I loved all of your shots in the magazine article. Glad you finally uploaded it to RP.net.

That road looks a bit intimidating to me... Having such a steep, wet, grade and railroad tracks looks a tad dangerous... Anyway, this is one of the most impressive picture I've seen... Those birds better clear out before that Nathan P-5 does!

Great rail trails across from here! On the brick bulding on the right, there is the history of thurmond....The new river gorge bridge is 5 miles to the northwest of this site....
