Good grief- 3 out of 4 units in warbonnet paint, and at least 2 of those look like Santa Fe units! How unusual is that? They look a little faded, a little grimy- but not too bad a shape, considering. Thanks for catching a nice shot of some classic units, Rick.

Yes, indeed - nothing like em, albeit a faded warrior. Somehow, no matter how one endeavors to cope with changing times, nothing quite refreshes (the senses) as a classic Santa Fe locomotive. Thanks for enjoying!

At first, had to do a little double-take to make sure this was 2009 -- totally agree with the "OMG" comment above regarding 3/4 units in various forms of warbonnet attire. After several days in the Flagstaff and points westward area in early May, albeit distracted with non-railfan things a chunk of the time, very few non-Pumpkin power running around these days. A far cry from the K25 I shot at this spot in the late 90's of one of the Wine trains grinding under the signal bridge with a hearty set of power on the head-end.
