This pic brings back memories. The shop men who serviced the engines were real friendly. If they saw you taking pictures they would immediately invite you up for a ride back and forth through the structure covering the center track. It was a sad day when they closed the engine facilities in Greensboro and shipped the 2 or 3 MP15's that were always present elsewhere. Thanx for sharing!!!!

I was there two months ago. I always found that it helps to let officials know who/what my intentions are in this post-9-11 era. At the old Amtrak Sta. (where the offices are now), being polite and respectful, I made friends with the Special Agents from G-boro and Raleigh- very nice folks. (One even showed me around - southern hospitality is still alive and well - thanks NS!)
