Splendid photo - too bad there is not a train in site. Looks to me like the perfect place for SP&S #700 to take ownership of.

I didn't know that use to span a rail line, I figured it went over the old highway. Railroad west of that location down along the Snake River the abandoned line has a number of impressive bridges and a concrete water tower still stands. You can see parts of the line in operation if you watch a YouTube video called, "Burlington Northern; Portrait of a Railroad (1973)." Thanks for the info Dave.
