I really wish NRE would have donated one of those or at least restored one cosmetically and put it on display at silvis.

Were they really in that bad of shape at shutdown that no other RR wanted them? The Maine Central picked up a good handful of ex RI U25B's in bad shape, but my guess is they were for spare parts.
