I had to do a double-take on the date of the photo. Where did they dig up an Amtrak still painted in the Red-White-Blue striped scheme (sorry, don't know the train model). It's been years since I've seen one still in those colors.

Very nice photo, quite a variety of power in the background. I'm surprised of all the BNSF locomotives.

It seems like a merger all over the country! With Amtrak sending so many Cascade F59PHI's to Indiana for routine inspections that BNSF locomotives have had to been used on the talgo sets out here in the northwest!

Phase 3 still lives on and on an ex-F40! I could picture Amtrak freight trains. What a mix and matchup.

My guess is these came in on the Empire Builder which has been ravaged by the winter, several reports of BNSF units being called to the rescue.

Truer words were never spoken. BNSF leased these locomotives to Amtrak, and the price wasn't cheap. If the BNSF can keep their power operating in this kind of weather, then why can't Amtrak!!??
