That is one awesome shot Very intimidating as it looms out of the fog and its own steam.

Fascinating dark image. Not just a steam engine thundering past in classic style, but wonderfully subtle color and the frost on the weeds provides some really interesting detail. Should be done in oil.

What a wonderful image Steve, something out of a dream sequence.

Quite a powerful image, Steve. The noise is actually appealing, giving this one a very classic feel and certainly not from the 21st Century. Definite PCA.

Wow, that one is like a painting.

Steve - what a wonderful frigid gem of a photo! Steam locomotives (and the surrounding landscape) seem to provide even better photo opportunities in cold weather. Thanks for braving the elements and sharing this photo.

The chemistry between all the elements put togheter in this shot yielded a mood yet to be found elsewhere; bravo Steve! Ahhh yes, PCA coming your way...

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant talent. This should hang in the UK's National Gallery next to Turner.

This is by far one of the most amazing pictures I've ever seen. It has an almost cynical theme to it but its still an embodiment of power. It has a sort of foreboding look to it, but its still so magnificent. Its scary and incredible.

I'm sorry I meant to say sinister, not cynical. My father added that it had an almost spiritual element to it. Everything about this picture is just so absolutely perfect.

Just an amazing photo, looks like a scene that American railroad painter Howard Fogg, would put down on canvas.

She is the authentic powerful iron horse, as well as you have shown. This is breathtaking, actually and absolutely.

Fantastic shot! "Rulebook" photographers would have considered the lighting to be hopeless.
