Your description of the day reminds us that "railfanning" involves a lot more than just standing trackside (or somewhere in the neighborhood) and pushing the shutter release! But it's all worth it, right?

I love the monologue, Ray. You're one of many photographer's on RP who is also a gifted writer - what a combination. Oh, the E's in that train are beautifully captured too, well worth the 'danger' (and effort).
