Although I see some British influences, this locomotive looks remarkably American!

Great contribution to RP - thanks for posting. I never realized China had 4-8-4's, or that the UK ever produced one. Seems they did but for export only. Very American looking, though fortunatly the red wheels were a foreign adaptation. The first 4-8-4 was built in the US in 1927 by ALCO for Northern Pacific hence the common name "Northern".
