A nice shot indeed. However, some locomotives were not designed to have a high hood.

N & W, unlike Southern Railway, designated the long hood as the front of their GP-30s, and put the bell on the rear. Both railroads liked high short hoods for crew protection. Note that the cab front is ahead of the sloping GP-30 roof cowling.
