The whole reason D&RGW ran mid train helpers was to have enough cars between the locomotives so that there wasn't more than one locomotive on Lobato trestle. That way the train didn't have to stop while going uphill. If C&TS is going to try and recreate those operations, they should have moved the second unit farther back.
