It Is weird. I mean 80 years ago if you would have told someone this would be abandoned in 2008 they probably would have laughed, and told you their is no way that would ever happen. It is really sad.

Amazing to see what things have survived so long after falling into disuse, that looks like some kind of portal to the past. Very good photo.

Weird that they make the effort to remove all the tracks, repave the street and whatnot, yet can't even take down an old relic like this? Not that I'm complaining, as I completely appreciate abandoned shots like this, but I have to wonder sometimes why structures like this are left to stand around many years after being put out of service. Regardless, great photo and caption, Gerald. Thanks for sharing.

Good work. Few people ever even take notice of the Approach marker still on the Main 1 semaphore mast. The line isn't abandoned though. Just exempted. Perhaps light rail someday...

Used to be a train station at this location called "Lorraine".
