An absolutely superb location and photo, Sam. Looks like you put single handedly put Sioux Falls back on the railfan map. Quite a fascinating location, how is it that it has not been photogpraphed before, or atleast not in RP's database prior? Regardless, captured it perfectly.

This is really an amazing location! Call me foolish, but is this really natural or is it man-made? It looks almost out of place in the urban environment and the rock formations seem to resemble the artificial formations at miniature golf courses. Either way, this is really a superb pic.

Excellent composition, Sam! I like the inclusion of the figure at the base of the falls which offers scale. Are all three units SD39's? A rare breed of EMD.

The falls are indeed natural. The water level is low this time of year, though The city built a five story observatory to take this photo from. To take the shot you have to face south, and that generally makes things difficult. I usually use a 2-stop hard edged ND grad filter when I take the shot, but Sam seems to have caught it in rare light where the sky didn't blow out (without using an ND grad.) In winter the water freezes into intricate columns. I want to shoot it at night, using monolights sometime.
