Excellent composition, H-bomb. It looks like the newly installed Minaret dynamic brake upgrade could have some clearance issues.

While some Southern Railroad diesel locomotive units were built to run long hood forward the GP30s were not, as evidenced by F on the frame of this unit. Southern Railroad always specified the bell and horns to be on the front of it's engines, some orders also had horns on both ends. Using the bell to determine the front is easier than looking for the (F). These high short hood GP30s always just seemed to me to be better looking than the standard low short hood version because the roof casing started behind the cab front, with both ends being the same height.

The GP 30 was by far my favorite engine. I remember the first time I saw these beauties on the CNO&TP hauling the Spark Plug south to the Choo-choo city.
