And The Railroad Lady "Once a Pullman car traveler now the brakeman won't have her." So she is riding on a bus to her home back in Kentucky.
So we have some fog here which could pass for "smoke along the tracks" which is a song sung by a guy leaving his woman for a while, he will be back but for now all she will have is smoke along the tracks.
