Please note the security type camera on the nose of #5826. This is standard operations for Norfolk Southern Operation Lifesaver Specials. Normally these trains carry both state and county officials. Be well aware that N.S. police officers do pace these trains and they do traffic stops, when drivers don't stop, or run the gates and flashing lights. My son and I were chasing this years Lifesaver between Louisville, Ky. and Danville, Ky. and observed a motorist pulled over in Lawrenceburg. Ky. by both an unmarked car (railroad detective) and a fully marked Norfolk Southern Patrol car. My son has the photos of this incident taken as I drove slowly past the traffic stop. They will take you to court and they will have you on tape !
