So tell us Kevin, what is the answer to the age-old riddle of just exactly how many people can fit in the cab of a Climax locomotive? Looks pretty packed in there. In all seriousness, great shot. It's not easy to pan geared engines.

Obviously, your were inspired by this shot [photoid=242973]! Anyway, I'm glad the weather was good for you because you came home with a winner. Perfect compo, good smoke, and as I told you, I love how sharp and how colorful your work is. Congrats!

Furthering the cause of the geared engine pan, I see! Now that you've got the Climax, I've got the Shay, and Mitch has the Cog, who will bag the Heisler-pan? Nicely done!

Thanks for the comments guys! I shot this as an experiment to pass the time when the sky was cloudy, but when I got home, I was amazed at how sharp it was. You're right, geared engine pans are not easy. As slow as they go, you really need a SLOWWWWW shutter speed to get the blur. I'm putting the Heisler-pan on my to-do list right now.
