Oh my! Very nice work, one of my favorites as well.

You aren't the first to smash a rental car heading out there. I like this shot quite a bit myself.

Congratulations for surviving the rough drive from the interstate to Canyon Diablo bridge!
|
We survived quite well, though the car was not so lucky. Driving to this spot basically involved plowing over 6,000 rocks for three or four miles. Some of those rocks managed to strip a few components off the bottom of the car. To say nothing of the car-sized hole we backed it into when shooting the narrow gauge in Plaster City. The rental agency never said anything when we returned it in Albuquerque, so it seems we got away with that one.

I agree, excellent effort John. Love those storm clouds in the distance.

Great Shot!! PCA vote here.

I made it out there in my Suburban and was quite proud. I dared a friend to drive his Corvette out there. Sure enough, he made it and has the pictures to prove it. Darned if I know how he got over all the rocks.

Always like to hear the stories behind the shots. I guess theres a reason why its called Canyon Diablo
Nice work. PCA from me

Excellent photo, John. Well worth the effort.

Nice shot, with the clouds in the background

This shot was taken from the South West side of the bridge. That is by far the toughest side of the bridge to drive to. I did the drive from the east side and it’s not too bad. I noticed the older bridge signal lights are still there in 2004. All of those black signal bridges have been replaced. The railroad keeps cameras on the bridge; they don't want anybody going out on the bridge and bungee jumping. I have heard of people doing that and getting letters from BNSF. I know how hard you worked to get this shot, great photo.

Canyon Diablo indeed! Awesome shot of an awesome bridge with some sweet lighting John. PCA
