Some time ago, Amtrak and GE came up with a less expensive fix for banged-up Genesis noses, which consisted of bolted-on panels to replicate the original, all-welded design. In this image, P42DC 77 illustrates that modification has further evolved, with the five-sided headlight cover panel being eliminated in favor the lenses being mounted in a simple recess. And, following even its latest repair, the 77 has suffered yet another of the same indignity.
