Why would CN have another SD40-2 repaired after a grade crossing accident? The WC 6002 had the same thing done but was retired and sold to LTE and then the W&LE. Sure the 6002 had a smaller fuel tank but still, the CN is retiring older power so I can only imagine the BCR 763 will hit the deadlines sometime this year.

Oh, man! I remember staring at this unit everytime I went past it while working in Walker Yard hoping that CN wouldn't repaint it to CN colours.

BC rail units have 2 sets of ditchlights because of the tight mountain curves that they used to run primarily in the rugged British Columbia mountain. One set is at an angle off to the side of the track to illuminate around tight corners, and the other set shines down the center of the track.
