I have seen other SD9s in Heritage 1 but they all had the short hood cut down. This is the first high nose I've ever seen. Rare indeed. Great photo.

In monitoring this site nearly every day, I can report that there are still SD9s in service on BNSF, some not rebuilt and some still in green, but all of the class are being renumbered into the 1700-series.

There are still a few around. I saw one Saturday at Galesburg, IL come off of the Peavine.
