Don, wasn't it just "The Crescent"? Great shot. Wife and kid? King Street Station on warm summer evenings was a great place to watch the southbounds.

Marty, prior to 1970 The Crescent and The Southerner were separate trains, but after 1970 they were combined to form The Southern Crescent. The nose of the E8 is decorated with a Southern Crescent logo.

A lot of reasons why I would not want to go back to 1972 - but this beautiful shot is one reason I WOULD - just to experience seeing this amazing train again. Wonderful shot Don, thanks!
