For those of you that are wondering about the stripe on the door, PRR used this simple line to designate locomotives that were used solely as pushers.

Thank you for posting these incredible classic shots John. I love the light on the right side of the F7.Shroud on front coupler and the skirts on the fuel tank are still on., what beautiful locomotives. You were already a very accomplished lensman as a teenager. I was 16 in 1953. Thank you again for your great body of work, happy holidays.
