Looks like UP really had their backs to the wall. I had to check at least 5 times to see if I was seeing what I was seeing. I can't believe its taken this many years to dig it up! Awesome, awesome shot. Glad you went out and got it despite the clouds.

Yes Mitch, you are correct, it was the Republican Convention that was at the (fairly) new Wachovia Center. To this day I regret not being able to get down there while this train was parked down there. Glad you got some shots down there.

I never knew how accommodating Uncle Pete could be!

It's kinda got a "parked in the driveway" look to it. LOL! Great pic of one of the Beautiful UP E9's

So you do take diesel pictures. It's one thing to bring it to your hometown but yet another to park it in your driveway. That's a great roster shot but I agree with Andrew, I had to do a triple take on that location going downhill up against an overhead door. Great location tag with the Vet in the background. I forgot Philly had a football team after last season. Go Bills.

Go Bills! Excellent catch Mitch, thanks for posting this one.

Great shot Mitch. Maybe Uncle Pete could swing by with his Challenger for a visit next time. Drop him a line and let me know what he says. Boy I sure miss Vets Stadium. The new park is nice but doesn't have Vet's history. I was at the very first Phillies game played there. If I remember right, someone named John Denny hit the first HR there. You hit a homerun with this picture.

"IF elected I promise 2 chickens on every plate, and an E9 in every driveway." Nice shot Mitch. Mark

Mitch, this is like the old days when dad and kids would wash the family car and leave it in the sun to dry and to show it off to the neighbors. Then, at night dad would put it back in the garage so it would be safe. "Dad, can I borrow the car." I sure do love E-units especially from a road that took such good care of them as UP did. This shot is among the best. Something exciting, something inviting about the angle and lighting.

I just accidentally stumbled across this photo while crusing through the archives. It is absolutely stunning and spectacular in every respect. Thanks so much Mitch for posting, so that the rest of us can participate in this scene. As an EMD fan with an E9 addicition, it just does not get any better than this.
