I hate to see these beautiful units head to the scrapper. In June of 2005 i spotted 221 in a string of DM&IR units at Larrys Truck & Electric in McDonald Ohio in what i thought might be a new lease on life for these units.

I really want to slap CN right now. I'm going to miss these units. Their beatiful paint scheme should not face death. Too bad a leasor is not saving these engines.

Whenever CN gets ahold of a railroad, change is slow until they decide they want no trace of the former road. DMIR was ignored until 2007, and it sure didnt take long for them to start nailing the coffins.....
