This engine is one of three that I believe was involved in an accident that happened in Lexington, Ky. Please see photo ID: 212608, for a description of the wreck. I am referring to TL Scott photos of a Southern Railway EMD SD45 which was in the same consist as this engine.

We worked at least a half dozen wrecks like this while I was at Chattanooga Diesel Shop 1979-1985, so after all these years its difficult for me to remember the specifics of each. This may have been when when a truck driver left his rig
on the crossing to get a key to open the gate at a steel yard in Norcross, GA. Coil steel will do this.
