A very nice transition shot, Mr. Scott. According to the Wither's Publishing Co. volume on Southern Railway diesels, the GP38s equipped with larger fuel tanks, got them from retired SD35s.

Only would Southern Railway take a unit with a low nose and give it a high nose! Amazing.

Terry, this is one for the record books. I knew y'all added a high short hood but I never knew it was painted for NS. How did that happen? Was it actually in service for a while in this scheme? Sounds like a good story there somewhere.
