Beautiful picture... of the "Métro"! This is actually the #5 Metro line - see picture 199570. The Métro differentiates from the RER with shorter trains, serving many more stations that are closer one to each other, and mostly concentrated within Paris city limits and close-by subburbs. The RER has longer and much faster "Express" trains (RER stands for Regional Express Network). The RER serves far away subburbs, and there are fewer RER stations within Paris city limits. The only RER bridge on the river Seine is located in a western part of Paris between the 16th and the 15th arrondissements (districts of Paris), on the C line of the RER network, not far from the Eiffel Tower - see picture 101373.
