Yea, they seem to go through a cycle. There will be STRAIGHT UP power (VERY few CP units) for 3 weeks or so before straight CP power returns. (Very few UP units) I think this is in part due to CP runs the UP units on unit trains as much as possible. So, once the UPs are making the trip West and back, CP uses their own units. The lease agreement only allows the UP units to be used as far east as Lethbridge, which is the eastern terminus of the Crowsnest Sub.
