WHOA! This was quite a find! Many thanks for the photo and the info. I grew up in Northville, for a year or so right next to the former F&PM mainline, later C&O, at the NW corner of Baseline Rd, c1958-59 and saw them hauling old PM 2-8-0's & 2-8-2's etc. north to scrap. One was even under steam, hauling several other derelict locos behind it. I actually had nightmares of it for years, it was such a sad and haunting visage. As I am now retired I am searching the web for photos and info concerning all things PM, and C&O as well as other roads; and getting back into modeling RRs.

Checking the historical notes I find that all 14 PM EMD NW2 locos were delivered with PM paint and numbered 51-64, so this one could not have been PM #1851, but perhaps PM #51. Maybe COHS has more info.
