Just to keep the records straight, these are not GP20s as designated by EMD, but rather upgraded, non-turbocharged GP9s, rebuilt by the Milwaukee Road to a 2000 h.p. rating. Chopped noses and new air filtration systems were part of the transformation. For some reason, Milwaukee liked to place the number indicators high in the cab-face housing, so it almost looks as thought they were applied upside down.
