Fantastic shot Chris!, great to see you got this type of shot before the old semaphores got taken away, thanks for your comments on my photo to mate on L270 in the tunnels section, Cheers and well done.

Very nice (excellent, actually) rendition of the light before the train - first time I've seen it from below the bend. Excellent exposure, too!

Absolutely stunning - the best of this type of shot I've seen - there are plenty on RP ! The outline of the British-style semaphores are the vital ingredient. Bob UK

Great shot, Chris! It is definitely one of the best photographs in the ARHS 2008 Calendar.

You have a great deal to live up to!! This is a superb shot. I visited this exact spot with my Australian friend Adrian Roberts (alias mega-gunzel, but he hasn't gone bus!!) - we waited and waited for a train, kept up to date by some seriously good contacts in NSW Railways, but nothing came before it went dull and then it was in the other direction! I eventually got a nice shot when the sun came out later at Werai (RP-161042), - anyway sorry for the ramble, this is superb.

Incredible Shot!

I really like how you used both the horizontal and the vertical curves in the tracks to provide such strong leading lines here.

Why am I reminded of the book / movie title: "Something Wicked This Way Comes"? Very "creepy" photo - yet superb capture too. Love the way the semaphores just "stand out" amongst the fog and backlighting from the approaching locomotive. Excellent shot Chris.
