Thunder only happens when it's Schmollinger... Nice! Not exactly sure how you set up for this shot?!, but I like it!

Very cool shot! Even the trees are blurred from the wind.

Awesome lightning shot Steve!
|
This is just a great SHOT.

I marvel at nature's beck and call. Its beauty is beholden to what it can do as its power is beyond our means, yet we can appreciate what we see as nature can only produce great shots as this.

Nothing less than amazing. To think that lightning can travel greater than 20 miles from its point of origin. Seems too close to me! Excellent shot Steve.

Extremely well done Steve, Regards Lee

Great shot Steve!
|
Great, great work! I was wondering if you had what written down what your exposure time was for this shot. I'm guessing around 1 - 2 minutes. I like how the lightning reflects off the rails.
|
Very striking photo!
What was the length of the exposure?
|
Amazing! Very nice source of lighting or should I say lightning.
|
Fantastic shot Steve. I bet the sound was amazing too.
|
Beauty of a pic !!
|
Very nice shot. You should submit some of these shots the weather sites too. They love beautiful weather shots like this.

Yes, just in time for halloween. Fan freak'in tastic. Amazing!

Steve, I shot a lightning strike on the SP at Tucson years ago that I thought was pretty cool, but this shot is absolutely fantastic! Makes me really miss the great big wonderful West. Thanks for sharing it.

Steve, your Tucson photos bring back all sorts of good memories as I grew up around this time in Tucson. I actually lived less than a mile from that crossing and would ride my bike down there to railfan for hours on end. The late 90's and early 2000's were such an interesting time with all the UP and SP liveries each train would have, (plus the odd CSX or NS unit thrown in for good measure) Great job!
