By definition, if they're "-2" units, they couldn't possibly be 39 years old (1968). They'd have to be no older than 35 years (1972), as that's when the EMD "-2" line began production.

These units were delivered to the CNJ RR during the last week of December 1968 as model GP40P units. The roster of 13 locomotives were in the CNJ RR 3671-3683 number series. The units were overhauled by Conrail's Juniata Locomotive shop in 1991 and subsquently reclassified as GP40PH-2 units due to their upgraded electrical components.
