I like the people shots. Especially one like yours with the youngsters getting one of their first tastes of railfanning. Grandpa looks a little concerned about why you were taking their picture. Did you get info to send them a copy? Nice shot.

The sad part is that now, 4 years later, this boy has probably lost his fascination. There is a possibility he is hooked for life, however. I miss solid trains of CB&Q cars, too.

Just a great shot for the family album, not just the grandpa and grandson.....but for Hinsdale, Amtrak, the railroad, any railroad. Hometown flavor. A youngster geting a first, or second, close-up of the real thing, yes, for that memories thing.

Not only is this how some of us acquired our interested in railroading, for some of us, this is the same railroad we acquired it on. I'll never forget seeing U-boats pulling coal drags and solid CB&Q car consists pulled by E9s through the western suburbs on the race track.

I'll never forget my grandfather sitting with me as we watched the CB&Q roll out of Beardstown, Il. past his house in Arenzville, Il. We would try to guess if the cupola on the caboose would be towards the front or rear. Great shot, John, and thanks for bringing back a memory.

That is a neat shot John. Nice touch with the caption and the shot. Got a PCA vote from me.
