Actually, the U30CG along with all other GEs in passenger service (the U28CG was the only other GE in ATSF passenger service) were pulled from passenger service following an accident. "Following a 1969 passenger train derailment at Chillicothe, IL, with two of the U28CGs, all GEs were pulled from passenger service." Railroad Color History: Santa Fe Railway, by Steve Glischiski.
