Nice catch Dave, Never seen those before.

Dear UP - My name is Dave and I've been shooting nearly everyone of your trains in California for some time and at nearly every angle as well. I'm looking to diversify my collection - please see what you can do for me. Sincerely, Dave. Nice catch, Dave! Better get some photos of SP's former flangers - they may be unemployed soon!

Interesting equipment.

I believe the shiny two in the background were rebuilt at CEECO in Tacoma WA. They did 3 last fall, including 331 & 320. I don't have the third number. None of the 3 CEECO rebuilt have the "flag" on the roof.

Nice catch Dave, you even bagged the trademark rear end of an ex-SP SD40T-2 (yeller stripe) in the background! The Espee Lives! (even if covered in sooty mustard)

You are correct. All of them have now been rebuilt. I am not sure of where. Someone mantioned in Washington. All I know is that they did a shitty job on the first ones. I'm not sure about the second or third set. My job changed after the first set and I don't work at the nervous track anymore. Unfortunatly they are now not nearly as neat inside. The old kerosene heater has been removed and so has the old bench seats.
